Support Groups
PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL
If you have a son, daughter, parent or relative serving in the
military and currently deployed in an area of conflict (Iraq or
Afghanistan), Fr. Cesar would like to include them in the parish
“Military Prayer Board.” Please email him (frcesar@stjohnneumannchurch.org)
a digital picture (in JPEG format) of your relative, together
with his or her name, branch of service, rank and mailing
address. Alternatively, you may also put all these in an
envelope and submit them to the parish office.
Silver Foxes
This group is designed to serve the needs of parishioners over 55. The goals of the club are to provide its members with those opportunities for companionship and spiritual renewal that otherwise might not be available. The Silver Foxes, through many levels of involvement, give meaningful individual and group support needed at this very special time in the lives of parishioners.
Large group meets monthly for breakfast after 8:30 a.m. Mass on
the second Saturday. Small annual membership fee.
ANEW

refreshments. Meets first Thursday of the month, at 7 p.m. Contact:

Rainbows for All God's Children
This is a support group for children in grades kindergarten
through eight who are facing the loss of a parent due to
separation or divorce. Children facing changes in their families
go through the same grieving stages as adults, but on their own
level. They may have trouble putting their feelings into words.
Their parents, who are caught up in their own pain, may have
difficulty reaching out to their children. While it does not
take the place of counseling, when that is needed, Rainbows is a
support group where children can put their feelings into words
and work through their grief. Contact Lucretia Cawthorne at
(630) 513-1530 for information. The SJN Rainbows program is
currently seeking adults dedicated to serving as facilitators.
Training is provided. This ministry is truly wonderful in the
aid it gives young people going through a death or a divorce
within their family. There is also a program designed for
adults. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like
more information on the program, please contact Joe Weyers at
(630) 377-6853.
H.E.L.P. For The Divorced is designed to help
individuals cope with the phases of divorce by providing a warm and
welcoming place to grow in God's love. H.E.L.P. (He Extends Love
Perpetually) offers "end of relationship" support through Rebuilding
Group, and "moving onward" support through Onward Group.
Contact Linda at 630-513-0935 or Carol at 630-232-4746 for more information.
