The Endowment Tree

As part of the St. John Neumann Endowment program, an "Endowment Tree" has been sculpted and placed in the entrance of our Church. The trunk of the tree depicts Jesus teaching our children and the brass leaves symbolize life and growth. The Endowment Tree provides a unique opportunity for individuals and families to help assure the continuation of St. John Neumann's mission and ministries in the future. Gifts to the Endowment Tree will go into the St. John Neumann Endowment Fund.

About the Tree

Each leaf on the tree permanently represents a gift of $1,000 or more. The inscription, chosen by the donor, is a tribute to those individuals or meaningful events that touched and illuminated the donor's life.

Inscriptions may highlight or commemorate such joyous occasions as births, weddings, anniversaries or graduations, or honor parents, family or friends.

What Are The Benefits To a Donor?

The St. John Neumann Endowment is an excellent vehicle for you to practice good stewardship and provides the opportunity for thoughtful giving with many benefits to you and your family as well. Also, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you have made an everlasting difference in meeting the material and spiritual needs of St. John Neumann Parish and our many ministries.

Perpetuity

Your gift held as an endowment or a memorial continues forever, only the income is distributed. The principal remains intact to give year after year.

Tax Advantages

Income tax savings; avoidance of capital gains on long term highly appreciated assets; elimination or reduction of Federal Estate Tax.

Memorial & Endowment Opportunities

You may honor and memorialize a loved one, a teacher or pastor who was an important person in your faith development, or someone else you respect.

Share The Vision

The St. John Neumann Endowment gives you the opportunity to pass on the faith entrusted to you by Christ by providing funds for:

Religious Education - Growth in faith and values is a life long task which begins in the home, is fostered in Catholic School and Parish Religious Education Classes and eventually takes root in the mind and heart of a child.

Parish Ministries - Think of the many ministries serving our parish and the broader community. As a parish we support the ministries of today and look ahead to provide for the needs of tomorrow.

Building and Grounds - As our parish grows in number and ministries, our buildings must grow to meet our needs. The endowment will provide the security that our facilities will provide adequate space and environment to carry out our mission and the vision of Christ.

Ways to Give . . .

Outright Gifts

Cash - The easiest and most popular way to make a charitable gift.

Appreciated Property - Certain types of assets will provide, with careful planning, greater tax benefits than cash particularly securities and real estate.

Wills & Living Trusts

Gifts to the endowment through your Will or Living Trust may be in cash or other assets for a specific amount, a percentage, or a remainder of your estate.

Income Producing Gifts

Charitable Gift Annuity - Receive guaranteed payments for life and a current income tax deduction. Gifts of appreciated stock will realize a reduction in capital gains tax.

Deferred Charitable Gift Annuity - This type of gift is attractive to those with current high income who are in need of immediate tax deductions but do not need the "income" until later in life.

Charitable Remainder Trust - CRTs provide annual income with many tax savings. Those wishing to make larger gifts (usually $100,000 or more) will have the most advantage.

Other Giving Plans

Remainder Interest in Residence - Give your residence or farm, but retain the right to occupy the residence or work the farm for as long as you live. This future gift is tax deductible today.

Gifts of Life Insurance - No longer need a portion or all of your life insurance? You can make the St. John Neumann Endowment Fund the owner or beneficiary of the policy.

Charitable Lead Trust - You give the interest for a period of years and get the principal back or pass it on to your children or grandchildren.
